CREW Detroit is excited to host an outdoor spring networking and walking tour of historic Hamtramck. On the tour we will explore a diverse group of small businesses in Hamtramck that attribute to the city’s rich culture. We will meet and hear from civic leaders and business owners about what makes Hamtramck so special. And, we will get to sample some of the great food products made in Hamtramck.

The tour will be set up so we can network in a safe way in small groups and get to know members in an intimate setting while getting our steps in for the day! Groups will make stops at the following locations and hear from various speakers (including Hamtramck Mayor Karen Majewski):
  • Polish Art Center
  • Le Detroit Macron
  • Bon Bon Bon
  • Better Life Bags
  • Tekla Vintage

Speakers:
  • Jennifer Chambers, Partner, Plante Moran and President of CREW Detroit.
  • Greg Kowalski, born in Hamtramck, MI, in 1950, and has lived there his entire life. He spent more than 40 years as a journalist before retiring in 2020, writing for and editing numerous newspapers and magazines. In 1998 he was appointed to the then-new Hamtramck Historical Commission.  That led, in turn, to the creation of the Friends of Historical Hamtramck,  the non-profit corporation that founded and now owns the Hamtramck Historical Museum. The museum was founded in 2013, and Kowalski is executive director. He has also written 10 books on Hamtramck.
