The Communications Committee functions as the marketing and communications powerhouse behind CREW Detroit. The committee is focused on enhancing the image, credibility and awareness of our chapter throughout the region and across the local CRE industry. The committee positions our organization and its members positively and professionally through a wide variety of communication tools including social media, public relations, CREW Detroit’s website, industry and member news, blogs and more.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Utilizing data, education, action and advocacy, our DEI committee is dedicated to cultivating meaningful conversations around issues of diversity, equality and inclusion that will expand the understanding and appreciation for all people regardless of gender, race, ability, sexual orientation, religion, age, socio-economic status or educational attainment. The DEI Committee leads our efforts for inclusivity and promotes representation in the CRE industry by providing resources to educate while also listening to our members and the trends in the industry.
CREW Detroit’s Golf Committee connects the CRE industry through the game of golf. The committee offers participants, sponsors and volunteers a high caliber event while promoting networking and increasing the visibility of the CREW Detroit brand to non-members. The committee also organizes our Swing & Sip event, allowing members and non-members to learn the game of golf or improve their skills. The Golf Committee aims to continuously build upon existing golf events and be the premier networking, sponsorship and charitable fundraising event in Southeast Michigan.
Impact Awards Committee
The Impact Awards committee plans, implements and promotes our leading awards program focused on utilizing membership, sponsorship and industry relationships to recognize and award, recently completed commercial developments. The Impact Awards are designed to recognize projects that have significantly impacted their surrounding community in a positive way.
The committee engages our membership and non-member CRE professionals to source projects, coordinate submittals, obtain sponsorships and compose a judge’s panel which includes a diverse group of real estate professionals.
Our Membership Committee is charged with recruitment, retention, benefits and ensuring the satisfaction of members. The committee focuses on attracting and retaining professionals within the CRE industry, helping to build a chapter that’s dynamic and diverse.
The Membership Committee recruits new members based on their network, diversity and commitment to elevating our chapter to be a premier professional organization. The team plans and hosts bi-annual prospective member networking events introducing guests to CREW Detroit and providing an opportunity to network with our membership. The committee is also tasked with maintaining membership data and statistics, coordinating new applications each month and membership renewal.
The Outreach Committee extends the mission and vision of CREW Network by inspiring and educating the next generation of professionals. The committee achieves this by mentoring and hosting events with our local schools, universities and communities, helping to create an expanded interest in the CRE industry among the next generation. Outreach programs not only provide scholarship and employment opportunities for our chapter membership, but also help create dynamic forums that continue the CRE conversation and the goal of achieving equality in our industry.
CREW Detroit Outreach Committee hosts several philanthropic endeavors and events to make an impact while building relationships within our community. Participating in these events is an excellent avenue to contribute to your community (help), grow your network (meet) and expand your zone of influence (learn).
Professional Development Committee
CREW Detroit’s Professional Development Committee offers custom programming developed by CREW Detroit specifically for its members with the goal of empowering them and promoting their emergence as future leaders in the real estate industry. These programs include mentoring, a leadership symposium and an additional personal/professional development event. These programs provide participants with the tools, skills and knowledge necessary to take the lead in their personal and professional lives.
The Programs Committee plans and coordinates various events throughout the year which are centered on topics that matter to the CRE industry. The committee aims to provide thought-provoking, relevant and helpful content to our members and CRE professionals at exciting venues throughout the metro Detroit area. Our committee is made up of individuals with knowledge of industry topics and opportunities and a passion for planning events. Members have background in brokerage, architecture, construction, interior design, commercial furniture and flooring and more.
Our Sponsorship Committee offers exposure, marketing, publicity and visibility opportunities for CRE industry sponsors within CREW Detroit. The committee reviews sponsorship levels and benefits each year to ensure sponsors are receiving measurable benefits for their commitment. Committee members are encouraged to remain engaged with sponsors throughout the year to ensure they are satisfied. The committee also executes our Annual Sponsorship reception.
