Program Details

Join CREW Detroit for a warm, riverfront evening of casual industry networking at the historic Detroit Yacht Club.

CREW Detroit’s Summer Spotlight program provides an opportunity for members seeking a position within chapter leadership to introduce themselves to fellow members. CREW Detroit’s nominating committee – an anonymous group of members tapped to review leadership applications and put forward nominations for the 2020 Board of Directors – will be in attendance. Members applying for a position to the Board, Executive Leadership Committee, or committee chair or co-chair positions in 2020 are highly encouraged to attend.

New members to CREW Detroit in 2019 will also be highlighted at this year’s Summer Spotlight, formerly known as “Summer Social.” A spotlight presentation on all the professionals who’ve joined the organization this year will kick off the evening, followed by networking and camaraderie at one of Detroit’s most celebrated establishments. Attendees hoping to make a personal introduction will easily spot the new members thanks to special nametags designed to highlight them and their companies.

CREW Detroit will also be accepting donations for City Year at the Summer Spotlight.  City Year helps students and schools succeed. Fueled by national service, City Year partners with public schools in 29 cities to provide research-based support to help students stay in school and on track to graduate from high school, ready for college and career success. Here in Detroit, 105 City Year AmeriCorps members will serve as tutors and mentors in 11 Detroit Public Schools Community District schools for the 2019-2020 school year, reaching more than 7,000 elementary, middle and high school students during the school year. Read more about City Year here.
