Remembering Alicia Buisst
CREW Detroit is saddened to announce the loss of a former CREW Detroit board member and friend, Alicia Buisst. On February 19, 2019 Alicia peacefully passed away after a twelve-year battle with Leukemia. She found many victories in remission, and challenges with relapses. An advocate to find a cure for the disease, Alicia became a campaign manager for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society -an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of patients and families.
During her time as a CREW Detroit member, Alicia was instrumental in the launch and development of CREW Careers. Her enthusiasm, and dedication played a vital role in the success of the program for many years. Her positive attitude and outgoing personality provided hope for many young women looking to make a change in their lives.
Alicia flooded our lives with hope, love, inspiration and “ROARS”. She will be remembered for her outgoing spirit and dedication to making the world a better place.
Alicia’s Celebration of Life Gathering:
Alicia did not want a funeral, instead she wanted a celebration, where friends & family could relax and enjoy without the sadness. Even to roar if they wished.Alicia’s amazing life had a lasting impact upon each of us. The gathering will be a celebration and an opportunity for each of us to relax a little and enjoy it.
