Hard Hats and (no) Heels – a CREW Detroit Favorite
CREW Detroit’s annual Hard Hat & (no) Heels event has always been a program favorite, and this year was no exception. Another sold-out event attended by more than 100 CREW members and guests checked in at the beautiful Fisher Building. Groups then toured through the under-construction project known as The Boulevard at Third & Grand. This ground-up, mixed-use transit-oriented development features five floors of high-quality residential units over ground floor retail. Approximately 20% of the units are reserved for affordable housing. A parking structured is also part of the project scope.
Following the tour, attendees gathered in the Fisher Leasing Office on the ground floor for networking, cocktails and delicious appetizers prepared by City Bakery, a new eatery located in The Fisher Building. A brief presentation was given by Dietrich Knoer, President and CEO of The Platform, the developer of The Boulevard; Clarke Lewis, Senior Development Manager also with The Platform, and Paul Marcus, CCO of O’Brien Construction, the project’s general contractor. The speakers shared their vision and excitement of not only The Boulevard at Third & Grand, but also of the revitalization of The New Center and Midtown area; including sentiments on how they are committed to connecting communities, excellence in design and construction, and raising the next generation of developers in Detroit.
The Platform was also excited to reveal that Orange Theory Fitness, a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) work-out studio just signed up as one of the tenants in The Boulevard.
