As 2015 wraps up and my presidency of our Detroit chapter comes to an end, I find myself reflecting on a year that has been monumental for our chapter and myself professionally.
This past year CREW Detroit has a lot to celebrate. Record attendance at many of our events, 36+ new members, sold out Impact Awards and Golf Outing, and professional development events for our members. None of these accomplishments would have been possible without the Board Directors of CREW Detroit, the Chairs, Co-Chairs and committee member’s. It has been the hard work and dedication of these women that have catapulted CREW Detroit into the best industry organization to be a part of. The best and worst part of working with these women like myself is that the benchmark was always set very high. Thank you each one you for being exemplary!
Professionally I am grateful for the mentors and companies that I have worked for that have supported my decision to take on leadership roles within CREW Detroit. The success of my career is due in part to the relationships I have made in the organization and their ability to allow me to dedicate time to CREW Detroit.
In ending, I encourage our members to look at taking on leadership roles within our organization. Challenge yourself professionally, and look at ways you can contribute to CREW and be a part of the continued growth of our chapter. It has been an amazing year and it’s been an honor and a privilege to serve as the chapter president. I wish nothing but the best to our 2016 incoming president Dana Kreis Glencer. She is a leader with vision, determination and will continue to evolve our chapter into something greater then it is today.
