CREW Detroit Invites Public to ‘Detroit Future City’ Program

DETROIT – CREW Detroit is inviting the public to its March 27 program at the Guardian Building to learn more about commercial real estate opportunities, challenges with vacant land, and concepts for green and blue infrastructure in the City of Detroit.

Marja Winters, Deputy Director of Planning and Development for the City of Detroit, will lead the discussion, which will detail “Detroit Future City,” a strategic framework report that serves as a roadmap toward a long-term vision for Detroit.

Detroit Future City divides the city into specific framework zones designated by their population densities and redevelopment potentials. Within each zone, the report details the appropriate land use typologies and development types to be utilized there. As part of the report, Detroit’s vacant land is identified as the city’s greatest asset, as well as its greatest liability.

Landscapeforms outdoor furniture and accessories is sponsoring the March 27 event, which is taking place at the Wayne County Government Offices, located on the 32nd floor of the Guardian Building in downtown Detroit. The event begins at 8 a.m. with registration, networking and a continental breakfast. The program will begin at 8:30 and last an hour. Complimentary valet parking will be available on Griswold.

The cost to attend is $40 for CREW Detroit members and $60 for non-members. The Guardian Building is located at 500 Griswold, Detroit, MI, 48226. Register here by March 25.
